Subfolder Performance Analyzer

How to Analyze Subfolder Performance using Table View

Analyze clicks and impressions across your subdirectories to understand which website sections drive the most search traffic.

Standard Google Search Console aggregates performance metrics at the property level, making it difficult to analyze traffic share for specific subdirectories. The Advanced GSC Visualizer solves this by segmenting your site structure into detailed click and impression breakdown charts alongside a comprehensive data table.

Info Prerequisite

Ensure you have activated the subfolder performance analyzer before proceeding. The sections described below will only appear after activation.

Step 1: Review the Subfolder Bar Charts

At the top of the section, locate the two stacked bar charts displaying share of clicks and share of impressions. Hover your mouse over any segment of the bar chart to view the folder name and its performance share. Alternatively, reference the legend below the chart to identify each color-coded subfolder. Positive values represent the exact proportion of traffic each section brings to the website.

Step 2: Analyze the Data Table

Scroll below the charts to review the detailed performance table. This table provides a clear picture of the website's SEO structure by displaying aggregated metrics for each subfolder.

  • Subfolder: The specific directory path.
  • Count of Pages: The number of URLs nested under that specific subfolder.
  • Clicks & Click Share: The absolute clicks and the percentage of total property clicks.
  • Impressions & Impression Share: The absolute impressions and the percentage of total property impressions.
  • Average CTR & Position: Standard performance averages for the entire folder.

Step 3: Expand Nested Subfolders

If a subfolder contains additional child directories, a Chevron icon will appear on the left side of the row. Click the Chevron icon to expand the nested structure and view the performance metrics for the child folders.

Step 4: Adjust the View and Export Data

By default, the table restricts the view to the top 10 subfolders. To view the complete site hierarchy, navigate to the View: heading and click the All Folders button. Once you configure your preferred view, click the Download CSV button on the top right side of the table to export the data for external spreadsheet analysis.

After evaluating the tabular data, proceed to the next section to learn how to represent this subfolder data visually using the tree view.
